Glens Falls is a small city of about 20,000 located conveniently close to many of New York state’s major attractions. It’s just a few minutes from touristy Lake George Village, about 30 minutes from Saratoga, and less than an hour from Albany. Glens Falls is a four seasons city with plenty to see and do year round.

There are two areas of Glens Falls where you’ll find plenty of places to stay. Aviation Road (I-87, exit 19) has several chain hotels including EconoLodge, Howard Johnson and Ramada Inn. There are also several locally owned establishments including the Welcome Inn and Kay’s Motel. The other area, just off I-87, exit 20, has more of the same. Places to Eat
You’ll find many of the national fast-food restaurants located on Aviation Road (I-87, exit 19) including McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s and the Olive Garden. For something a little more elegant try The Coachman Restaurant or The Montcalm Restaurant, both located just off I-87, exit 20 (US Route 9).

The Great Escape (I-97, exit 19 or 20) is located on US Route 9 and is one of the largest Theme Parks in the Northeast. Several world-class roller coasters keep visitors coming back year after year. If you enjoy shopping, The Aviation Mall (I-87, exit 19) is a major shopping center with over 80 stores and restaurants. For outlet shopping, the I-87, exit 20 area features dozens of national chain outlets. How about a hot-air baloon ride? Adirondack Balloon Flights offers rides departing from the Howard Johnson’s restaurant parking lot (I-87, exit 19) daily at dawn and 3 hours before dark. The 1-hour trips offer panoramas of the Adirondack Mountains and the rural countryside. If that’s not all, Lake George Village, a major tourist destination, is only a few minutes north…
