Burlington is one very cool city… a hidden gem in northern Vermont. Located along the eastern shore of Lake Champlain, the area is home to several colleges, including the University of Vermont. It’s proximity to major ski resorts, lakes and mountains make it a year round destination.

Places to Eat
Tons of places to eat here, from fast food to elegant. Most fast food chains are represented here along the areas commercial routes (US routes 2 and 7). Downtown Burlington’s Church Street is a pedestrain mall with shopping and an excellent mix of restaurants, cafes and lounges. Street entertainers and festive landscaping make this downtown a one-of-a-kind.

Downtown Burlington’s Church Street is a must. The Fleming Museum just to the east is well worth a visit. Nearby you’ll find that the mountains are a year round draw… and beautiful Lake Champlain just can’t be missed. Take a day trip up to the Champlain Islands… absolutely beautiful! Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream factory tours are available daily in Waterbury, about 15 minutes from Burlington on I-89.
Getting Around
I-89 is the main Interstate route through the Greater Burlington area. US Route 7 runs north-south through the area and US Route 2, east-west. City streets are basically a grid pattern and it won’t take long to find your way around here.
